description The Woodward Reservoir Regional Park is located at 14528 26-Mile Road, which is approximately six (6) miles north of the City of Oakdale, CA off Hwy 120. This regional park offers 3,767 acres of land and 2,900 acres of reservoir for recreation and camping. Facilities include camping areas, and as of June 1, 2016, 101 full hook-up campsites, concessions, restrooms, picnic shelter, barbeques, and picnic tables. Water from Woodward Reservoir is a source of drinking water for cities in our region. State and Federal laws allow camping in campsites at 30 feet above the high water mark. In recognition of Independence Day, the festivities include our annual fireworks display. This is a busy day at the reservoir come early and stay late for fun in the sun and the stars. The date of this event varies from year to year. Please check our Park Events Calendar at www.stancounty.com/parks/reservoir.shtm website for the date. Stanislaus County Fish and Wildlife Committee and the State of California Department Fish and Wildlife periodically restock the fish population at the reservoir. Plants include the traditional rainbow trout, red-ear sunfish, large and small mouth bass, channel catfish, and blue gill. We have a great variety of wildlife here at the reservoir. You may see a number of different birds and mammals. You are very likely to come across the ground squirrels, jackrabbits, cottontails, red-tail hawks, coyotes, raccoons, seagulls, burrowing owls, geese, ducks, blue herons, great white egrets, and much, much more.

importantInformation Campers must vacate campsites no later than 2:00P.M. on the last camping day as stated on their receipt. South San Joaquin Irrigation District controls the water at Woodward Reservoir. Traditionally early fall through early spring Federal regulations prohibit any body to water contact when SSJID is drawing from the North (lower) intake for the water treatment plant. No swimming, skiing/jet skiing, wind surfing or any bodily contact is allowed at that time. Boat launching is still allowed. Please check the website for updates. Camping fees include entry for one (1) vehicle and one (1) legally towed vehicle or trailer. A maximum of two (2) vehicles are allowed at each campsite and the 2nd vehicle is subject to the posted 2nd vehicle fee, which must be paid at the entrance station. In addition to camping fees, additional fees may apply and will be charged at the Entrance Station at the time of arrival. You must show proof of eligibility upon arrival for any discounts. If you do not have the required proof of eligibility, additional applicable charges will be applied and collected at the entrance station. A Quagga/Zebra Mussel Self-Certification is required on all watercraft. Self-Certification is done by the customer at the Entrance Station.
